Andrew Vigeland serves as Director of Human Resources at the Montana
School Boards Association. Prior to joining the association in
2017, Vigeland worked as a prosecutor with the Cascade
County Attorneys Office in Great Falls, Public Defender in Butte, Montana,
and legal assistant and IT professional in Missoula, Montana.
Vigeland has represented school boards across the state in a variety of cases
that include employment law, Title IX, and internal investigations as well as
others. He is proud to have collaborated with association colleagues on
several additions to the Montana Education Law Reporter. He also prepares
Courtroom to Boardroom – the monthly association publication that keeps
members apprised of legal developments statewide. Vigeland speaks and
presents at monthly association trainings and enjoys the pursuit of obscure
sections of school law.
Vigeland received a B.A. in Communication Studies along with a Geographic
Information Systems Certification from the University of Montana and went on
to attend the UM Law School where he graduated with his sister in 2016.
