John Doran is the Chief Strategy Officer for the Montana School Insurance Alliance. Together with a group of vested stakeholders, John is spearheading implementation of House Bill 332 (2023) to enhance the health benefits options, quality, and cost-effectiveness for all public-school employees and employers across Montana. John brings to this position a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in the health insurance industry. As the former Divisional Vice President of External Affairs and Chief of Staff at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana, and the former executive editor of the Helena Independent Record, John has demonstrated exceptional skill in strategic planning, external and government relations, public and press communications, and fostering positive organizational culture. John and his wife, Anna, have two children, Ellie and Finn, and live in Helena.
