Tony Koenig serves as Director of Legal Services for the Montana School Boards
Association. In this position Tony provides legal advice and representation to member
school districts, participates in the provision of educational opportunities for the
leadership teams of member school districts, and generally assists in the provision of
services to member school districts designed to ensure effective school governance.
Tony has been with the MTSBA since 2004. Prior to that, he was a private practice
attorney in Glasgow, Montana for four years, and a special assistant attorney general
for the State of Montana with a focus on child and adult protective services for
approximately four years.
Tony earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law, and a BS
in political science from North Dakota State University.
